YOUR MUSIC TASTES

This is the 6 minutes of meaningful words. Must say, I have some elitist moments in my life, and I felt shameful about that.

When I first entered grade 8 at The Olympia Schools, no one had the same "abnormal" music taste as mine, so I started to look down and separate myself from people with "lame" music tastes. The majority belongs to K-pop, J-pop, V-pop, shitty 10s USUK pop, EDM, indie etc lovers, and I decided to hang out with Dana, who has the most similar music taste to mine, and some J-rock fans also. Then this thing happened:

I hate J-music. So guess what, I reduce exposing time to my friends, who are not really my friends, just because we have the most similar personality to me such as staying inactive, not evolving into any extracurricular activities. I used to proud because I have better music taste than them, but it's true that no one care about your music taste. Even when I have the most stupid innocent appearance and tell them, "I love metal and alternatives", no attention was given to me, even I was the strangest person ever existed.

What people listen to cannot define them, and I tried to keep myself as openminded as possible to accept the truth. Actually, I can't stop stereotyping people because it have become my addiction since birth, and I discovered the similarity of people who have the same music taste. All of them are personal experiences from my observation, so there must be exceptions.

1. Kpop fans (and Asian Pop fans): fake swaggers/ preps/ popular bitches/ always judge a book by its cover/ closeminded

2. J-music fans: cute/ childish/ lame/ gamers/ lazy

3. USUK fans: preps/ active

4. Techno music: rich asses/ party addicts/ alternative poser/ active

5. Alternative/ Rocker/ Metalhead: weird/ openminded/ creative/ deep

6. Rap: basketball players/ funny

7. Country music: i don't think i have met anyone who likes Country

8. Jazzy swinger: artistic?

9. Classical music: rich asses/ geniuses

In Vietnam, the rock scene remains so tiny that you rarely find any rocker. If I am lucky enough to meet one, I will take it as the most satisfying moment of my sophmore, and I won't be criticizing that person's favorite bands.
